LSU pulled off one of the big win’s of the weekend with its 45-20 victory against No. 7 Ole Miss. Ole Miss entered with a 7-0 record and 3-0 mark in SEC play.

LSU rallied from a 17-3 deficit in the second quarter to earn the win. LSU didn’t commit a turnover and amassed 500 total yards in the victory.

ESPN’s Paul Finebaum and Matt Barrie discussed the contest and both were impressed with the performance by LSU:

LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels passed for 2 touchdowns and ran for 3 more in the victory. LSU is now tied with Alabama atop the SEC West.

“When you look at the SEC West and the way Jayden Daniels is playing, LSU is in a really, really nice spot in this division,” Barrie said.

LSU and Alabama will square off on Nov. 5 in Baton Rouge in what could essentially be an elimination game for the right to compete in the conference title game.

“Daniels has done a really good job. They’ve got talent on the team. It’s probably below what we’re used to,” Finebaum said. “…They are pretty fired up about the game in 2 weeks.”

Alabama leads the all-time series 55-26-5, with back-to-back wins against LSU. LSU’s last victory in the series came in 2019 in Tuscaloosa.
