It’s not often an SEC program can add a walk-on prospect of any significance to its roster but LSU may have done that recently with the addition of former Nicholls defensive back, Quinton ‘Pig’ Cage.

Cage announced his transfer to LSU over the weekend. He has four seasons of eligibility remaining and will not count against LSU’s 85-man scholarship limit as he begins his career in Baton Rouge.

A Louisiana native, Cage played for high school power Archbishop Rummel, where he was named First-Team All-State during his senior season in high school.

Cage played just one season at Nicholls where he racked up 30 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, a forced fumble and one interception in seven games. Following his lone season at Nicholls, Cage was named an FCS Freshman All-American.

Based on his track record of performance on the field, don’t be surprised if Cage earns a scholarship before long in Baton Rouge.
