The injury bug just won’t leave former LSU RB Derrius Guice alone. After finally making his NFL regular-season debut with the Washington Redskins on Sunday, Guice could be sidelined again for multiple weeks.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports, per a source, that Guice is dealing with a “meniscus injury that he hopes is a sprain and a few weeks recovery but is awaiting full clarity from tests.”

Guice missed the 2018 season after tearing his ACL during the preseason. The former Tigers ball-carrier excited Washington fans in limited preseason action this year, but recorded only 10 carries for 18 yards on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. He also caught three passes for 20 yards.

A few weeks of recovery would be better than what Guice dealt with last year, but it’s still a tough break for the second-year running back. Guice played at LSU from 2015-17, earning All-SEC honors in 2016 (first-team) and 2017 (second-team). He opted to enter the 2018 NFL Draft and forego his senior season. The Redskins took Guice in the second round with the No. 59 overall pick.
