After entering the transfer portal last month, an LSU linebacker has reportedly decided to leave Ed Orgeron’s program for a Big 12 team.

CBS Sports is reporting that Marcel Brooks has decided to transfer to TCU. The report details that Brooks is currently on TCU campus in Fort Worth, Texas and could be working out with Gary Patterson’s Horned Frogs as soon as he passes a physical.

A native of Flower Mound, Texas and product of Marcus High School, Brooks returns closer to home by heading back to the Lone Star State. As a class of 2019 prospect, Brooks was rated 5-stars, the No. 2 outside linebacker and No. 32 prospect overall nationally on the 247Sports Composite. During his recruitment, he collected 21 scholarship offers, including Alabama, Florida, Ole Miss and Texas A&M.

In his freshman season, Brooks played in 11 games, recording 8 total tackles and 1.5 sacks during LSU’s national championship run.

Brooks is the second 5-star post-Signing Day addition for the Horned Frogs. SEC running back recruit and Texas native Zach Evans signed with the program in May.
