Former LSU QB Danny Etling was trying to catch on with the Atlanta Falcons this season after spending 2019 alternating between the team’s 53-man roster and practice squad.
However, a stint on the reserve/COVID-19 list may have harmed his chances, as it was reported on Monday that the Falcons had released him.

Atlanta has 3 quarterbacks currently on its roster — starter Matt Ryan, veteran Matt Schaub and third-year player Kurt Benkert.
Etling also spent time with the New England Patriots after he was a Round 7 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Now, he’ll try to find a new squad before the start of the 2020 season.
