According to a report by Shea Dixon of 247Sports, LSU quarterback Myles Brennan may be looking at a redshirt in 2018. Save for a few moments late in games, Brennan hasn’t set foot on the field thus far for the Tigers.

Because of the NCAA’s new redshirt rule that says players may participate in four games without taking a redshirt, Brennan is still eligible to take a redshirt in 2018 and not have this season count against his remaining eligibility.

LSU still has seven games remaining on its schedule, so with Joe Burrow firmly seated as the starter, head coach Ed Orgeron likely isn’t looking to thrust Brennan into the lineup anytime soon.

Moreover, Brennan will still be up for a redshirt at the end of the season, even if he sees action in the final three games and a bowl game. That would leave the sophomore quarterback with three more years of eligibility, which would stabilize the LSU offense even more going forward.
