LSU has reportedly suspended a player from its men’s basketball team after he was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

That player is rising redshirt junior F Courtese Cooper, who is a native of the Chicago area.

Per The Advocate, Cooper has been released after posting bond:

He was booked at 5:12 a.m. Saturday and was released later in the day at 12:16 p.m. after posting $300 bond, a spokesman for the DuPage County Jail told The Advocate. He was arrested by the police in Glendale Heights, which is roughly 15 miles from his hometown of Elgin.

LSU said it is aware of the arrest and told The Advocate that Cooper had been suspended:

LSU is aware of the arrest and has suspended Cooper indefinitely from the team, citing athletic department policy. His bio page is no longer active on LSU’s athletics website.

Cooper appeared in 10 games this past season for the Tigers. He averaged 1.2 points and 1.9 rebounds in 6 minutes per contest.
