In 2018, LSU WR Derrick Dillon finished fourth on the team with 303 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Considering Ja’Marr Chase (313 yards) and Stephen Sullivan (363) were the ones above him, there wasn’t much separation between the Tigers’ second and fourth receivers.

However, as the rising senior attempts to take on a bigger role in his last year, he’ll have to overcome a setback. Per a report from NOLA.com, Dillon had hip surgery last month and will be out all spring:

Senior LSU receiver Derrick Dillon underwent hip surgery in February and will miss all of spring practices, an LSU source told NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune.

Dillon has been on the sidelines with crutches watching practice for much of the spring. He is expected to be ready for the season this fall.

The Tigers return QB Joe Burrow and most of their receiving corps, so this could be a big year for the LSU passing game.

If Dillon is healthy this fall, that’ll be a big boost for the team’s offense.
