Before games last season, former LSU WR Odell Beckham Jr. would sport some unique cleats, designed by Nike and Troy Cole.

However, this offseason, Adidas wanted to sign the New York Giants star to a deal, forcing Nike to match the lucrative offer.

Now, OBJ has the biggest shoe deal ever given to an NFL player by Nike, with ESPN reporting that the deal is for five years and around $5 million per year:

“It was a long process,” Beckham’s agent, Zeke Sandhu, told ESPN. “This proved he’s an icon.”

Beckham has over 11.9 combined followers on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, making him a valuable face for the Nike brand.

Interestingly, Nike will pay OBJ more than the Giants this year, as he’ll make only $3.3 million in the 2017 season.
