Apparently hosting an SEC team for the first time in the Rose Bowl is not enough to get the UCLA students fired up.

UCLA is offering free tickets to the LSU game on Sept. 4 to all of its students in an effort to help draw a crowd in its favor in anticipation of the LSU fan base traveling well for a rare West Coast trip, the Los Angeles Daily News reported.

A pair of Twitter accounts have promoted the giveaways, including the student section, and a game day account, which said that Southern California high school students were also invited to attend that same LSU game for free.

Usually, students are asked to purchase a “Den Pass,” which grants access to all home football and men’s basketball games along with priority postseason tickets among other perks.

“I know just having a packed crowd will make the guys excited,” quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson said about fans returning to the Rose Bowl following the pandemic-shortened 2020 season when fans were not allowed to attend games.
