One of the best nonconference games in the nation for the 2019 college football season officially has a start time and broadcast information as LSU has announced that the Tigers will take on Texas from Austin at 7:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, Sept. 7. The game will be broadcast nationally by ABC.

LSU’s much-anticipated trip to Texas will be the first meeting on the gridiron for the two programs dating back to the 2002 season. Texas beat LSU in the Cotton Bowl that season and also holds the all-time edge in the series at 9-7-1.

Both teams are expected to be ranked in the top 10 for this matchup as LSU opens the season at home against Georgia Southern on Aug. 31 while Texas opens the season in Austin against Louisiana Tech. The Longhorns are coming off a Sugar Bowl win over Georgia while the Tigers are coming off a Fiesta Bowl win over a UCF program that had gone undefeated for two consecutive regular seasons.
