Count former Notre Dame running back Tony Jones Jr. as a big fan of LSU coach Brian Kelly.

And he wants LSU players to know that if they stick with Kelly he can lead them to much success.

“Coach Kelly is going to bring some great stuff there…all them kids are going to get some great culture and some great coaching,” Jones said. “I mean I wish he would’ve stayed”

Jones played for Kelly at Notre Dame from 2016-19, gaining 1,481 yards and scoring 12 touchdowns in his career.

Kelly officially had a 92-39 record at Notre Dame in 10 seasons. He was stripped of 21 wins in the 2012 and 2013 season for playing with an ineligible player.

Kelly’s overall record is 263-96-2 with stops at Cincinnati, Central Michigan and Grand Valley State. He led the Bearcats to a 12-0 season and top-four finish in 2009 and Notre Dame to the College Football Playoff in 2018 and 2020. Kelly won two Division II championships at Grand Valley State.
