The Buffalo Bills are excited to keep Tre’Davious White for an extra two seasons.

The team announced on Thursday that White’s fifth-year option has been picked up, locking him into a contract with the team through the 2021 season.

If White and the team don’t reach a long-term deal before the 2021 season, the defensive back will receive a salary averaged between the third through 25th highest salaries at his position in 2021.

The defensive back from LSU was selected by the Bills with the 27th overall selection in the 2017 NFL Draft and has developed into one of the league’s best cornerbacks as he’s coming off a season in which he finished as a first-team All-Pro selection.

While he missed a game last season, White still finished with six interceptions, giving him 12 after three seasons with the Bills.

In addition to his interceptions, White has defended 43 passes and made 181 tackles during his three seasons in the NFL. The Louisiana native is just the latest in a long line of defensive backs to come through LSU and thrive in the NFL, which further continues the legacy of DBU in Baton Rouge.
