Twitter reacts to LSU's hiring of Ed Orgeron as head coach
LSU tabbed Ed Orgeron as its new head coach on Saturday morning. The Bayou native will replace Les Miles, who was fired in September.
After a 5-2 stint as the team’s interim head coach, Coach O landed the full-time job.

Shortly after the announcement, Twitter exploded with both positive and negative reactions to the hire.
Former players and 2017 recruits joined LSU fans (and college football fans in general) in their praise of the Coach O hiring on Twitter:
One happy tiger! See you soon Coach O.. ??

LSU made right choice in hiring Coach O… The SEC West is like no conference in the country. Sorry Coach H, but Houston is not in the SEC.

Others weren’t so happy with LSU’s decision, though:
LSU hiring Coach O is a desperation move. Feel that there are more qualified candidates out there.

This AD at LSU must be a complete idiot…now when they fire Coach O in 2 years they won't be able to keep him on staff to recruit
— Hall Atchison (@UKHallA) November 26, 2016
The excitement of coach O will wear off.

I love the fact that LSU settles at the head coach. Enjoy coach O for the next three years while he runs your program to the ground???
— O'Byron Pams (@obezzy87) November 26, 2016
Worth noting that interim coaches often produce misleading short term results & Coach O went 3-21 in SEC in only permanent HC gig at Miss…
