Zachariah Branch is one of the top players available in the transfer portal this offseason, and, along with his brother Zion, is reportedly taking a trip to Miami to open 2025.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported the news of the Branch brothers visiting Miami overnight following New Year’s Day. The brothers are expected to be a packaged deal in the portal, and the two have already visited Georgia and Arizona State.
The two began their career at USC playing under Lincoln Riley before hitting the transfer portal after the conclusion of the 2024 season.
Zachariah is the bigger draw of the 2 brothers and was an All-American returner as a true freshman in 2023. He led the nation with 20.8 yards per punt return and had a touchdown off of punt and kick returns that season.
During the 2024 season, Zachariah’s return numbers dipped but he improved his receiving output with career-high numbers in 47 catches for 503 yards. He is an elite speedster that could certainly break out within the right offensive system while also being dynamic in the return game.
As for Zion, he is a safety with 21 career appearances across the past 2 seasons with 41 total tackles and 3 pass breakups.
According to the 247 Sports transfer rankings, Zachariah is the No. 4 overall player in the portal and the No. 2 WR behind only former Georgia Tech star Eric Singleton Jr. Zion has received a 3-star transfer rating.
