Tim Brando and Joel Klatt are on the same wavelength about the media coverage about the Michigan scandal. At issue are the recent stories this week about Big Ten coaches and athletics directors raising concerns with the conference, specifically Commissioner Tony Petitti.

This opinions are on the same track with that from comments this week from Michigan legends Desmond Howard and Charles Woodson.

It’s apparent many in media believe Commissioner Petitti serves at the pleasure of the AD’s & Coaches,” Brando shared on social media. “He doesn’t! He works for the Presidents and as long they as a body want to abide by the antiquated (NCAA)? Nothing gets done until 90 days after Notice of Allegations are sent!”

That was in response to Klatt’s comments, which said the investigation should run its course.

“Lots of sources and articles about how “mad” opposing coaches are about Michigan…The level of anger has a direct relationship with the success Michigan has had over the last two+ seasons…Also, the level of anger is not grounds for an unprecedented overreach from the commish,” Klatt wrote.

Klatt said it’s very 2023 of people to demand immediate action. Instead, he posed a question back to the coaches.

“Somebody should ask all those opposing coaches why they haven’t been on board with helmet audio?,” Klatt wrote. “Rushing into decisions to appease a mob is not leadership and has backfired in the recent past if you haven’t forgotten.”

Brando initially raised the issue, and explained that the media can keep its NCAA back channeling of leaks alive through November and effectively ignore the most enjoyable part of the college football season and he suspects they will.

“Commissioners do need to use this as an example of how the further they get away from the NCAA the better, and the quicker they take control of governance of CFB the sooner the sports image and day to day operations will improve!,” he wrote.
