That didn’t take long.

The ESPYs started off with a bang, and Dak Prescott needs more room in his trophy case.

Prescott won the first award of the night and the first ESPY of his career for Best Breakthrough Athlete.

Prescott is coming off of 13 wins during his rookie season, which tied him with Ben Roethlisberger for the most by a rookie in NFL history. In addition to the ESPY, Prescott won the Offensive Rookie of the Year, the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year and made the Pro Bowl.

One of the most magical accomplishments of his rookie season was breaking Tom Brady’s record for the most consecutive pass attempts without an interception to start a career (176).

So, it’s been a year that was certainly unexpected and completely incredible at the same time. That’s what we call a beautiful collision of hard work, persistence and timing.
