Dante Kelly, a 6-foot-3 and 203-pound athlete out of Itta Bena, Mississippi (Leflore County) has announced a commitment to play in the SEC.

Kelly shared that he has committed to Mississippi State after he has a reported 8 offers, but is not yet rated by the 247Sports Composite. In high school, he has played linebacker and safety. Kelly is rated as the nation’s No. 136 athlete and the state’s No. 24 prospect by 247Sports. His offer list includes Vanderbilt, Navy, Memphis, Arkansas State and Southern Miss.

Kelly becomes the fifth commitment in the Bulldogs’ Class of 2023 and he is also the fourth Magnolia State commitment in the class.

“I actually committed to them last night,” Kelly told Gene’s Page. “We talked about it then and I went ahead and made it official today. It’s just the atmosphere there and the coaching staff. I love everything about Mississippi State. So I said why not? The first one I told was Coach Rod Gibson. Then I told Coach Tony Hughes and Coach Zach Arnett. They were excited, I was excited. Everyone was excited.”
