Key Mississippi State LB enters transfer portal, per report

Mississippi State appears to be losing a major part of its defensive unit for 2022.
According to Scout’s Steve Robertson, linebacker Aaron Brule has entered the transfer portal. Although no official announcement has been made, Brule’s player page on the Bulldogs’ website has been removed.
The New Orleans native was ranked as the country’s No. 32 safety in the class of 2018 when he committed to the Bulldogs, but he made the switch to linebacker upon his arrival. He recorded 16.0 tackles for a loss—including 7.0 sacks—in 2020 and 2021. Brule was also the team’s 2nd-leading tackler in 2020 with 74 stops.
Brule’s next destination is obviously unknown at this time, but it appears that Lane Kiffin might be preparing to make a play for him to head to Ole Miss. He retweeted the news on his Twitter account:

Brule will have 2 years of eligibility remaining. He redshirted in 2018 and has a bonus year of eligibility due to COVID-19.
