The Mississippi State fanbase is geared up for this weekend’s game, as former coach Dan Mullen rolls back into Starkville with his new squad — the Florida Gators.

Some are still angry at Mullen for the way he left, and that has led to some photoshopped buttons being sold among MSU fans showing star QB Nick Fitzgerald giving the finger to Mullen.

On Tuesday evening, Fitzgerald tweeted a message, making it very clear that he doesn’t support the buttons:

Many in the MSU locker room still respect Mullen, who led the Bulldogs to heights the program had never reached before.

Still, Saturday’s game should be an intense one, and Fitzgerald and his teammates will be all business on the field. However, it’s clear he hopes fans will be more civil than these buttons indicate.
