Mike Leach praises special teams unit, recaps win over Bowling Green
Mike Leach spoke postgame following the Bulldogs’ 45-14 win over Bowling Green.
Leach praised the special teams, named which position group he thinks is most important in football (one which played well for the Bulldogs Saturday) and spoke on the status on some of the younger players on the team.
The special teams unit did well Saturday. Three returned kicks amassed 91 return yards while Bowling Green combined for just 53 yards combined on kick and punt returns. Leach noted that effort postgame.
Mike Leach: “This is one of the better special teams game I think we’ve had.”

Leach also touched on the play of some of the younger Bulldogs. He wasn’t pulling any punches, either.
Mike Leach: “I thought some of those younger guys squandered their opportunity. … No sense putting them in if they’re going to play like that.”

Mike Leach says offensive line is the most important position. Adds:
There’s people that argue that, and they’re wrong. Either that or they don’t understand football.
