Mississippi State guard removes name from NCAA transfer portal

Mississippi State is entering a new era, switching from Ben Howland as its head men’s basketball coach to Chris Jans.
Several players entered the transfer portal ahead of the 2022-23 season, but as the offseason has worn on, a couple have withdrawn their names in order to remain in school.
On Monday, walk-on guard Justin Rumph became the latest Bulldog to remove his name from the portal and commit to Mississippi State for the upcoming year:

Rumph started his collegiate career at Faulkner, an NAIA school, in 2017-18. The next season, he played at Southern Union State Community College in Alabama. Then, he came to Mississippi State as a walk-on in 2019-20.
Last season, he appeared in 5 games. He scored a total of 3 points and grabbed 1 rebound.
