Mississippi State freshman Deshun Dixon has become the third Bulldogs player arrested this offseason.

The walk-on receiver, former standout Anthony Dixon’s younger brother, faces a DUI charge after getting arrested early Sunday morning, according to The Clarion-Ledger.

Dixon’s other brother, Rashun Dixon, is a sophomore tight end for the Bulldogs, while Anthony Dixon is the team’s all-time leading rusher.

Earlier this offseason, receiver De’Runnya Wilson got arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Redshirt freshman offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins also was arrested for simple assault.

Quarterback Dak Prescott, quarterback Damian Williams and linebacker Torrey Dale were involved in a skirmish in Panama City, Fla., during spring break. Prescott said the three players got “jumped,” though he didn’t press charges.

It’s been a frenetic offseason for Bulldogs fans, but Mississippi State isn’t the only team that’s received this kind of news. Alabama, for example, saw three of its players arrested within a four-day period.

Prescott is healthy and played a tremendous spring game, while Wilson also returned to practice. The team’s No. 1 receiver may face some sort of punishment at the start of the season, but all things considered, none of the news should have a major impact on Mississippi State’s 2015 season.
