Malik Heath’s days with the Mississippi State football program may be numbered following his actions in the post-game brawl with Tulsa after the Bulldogs’ 28-26 win in the Armed Forces Bowl.
Heath was seen on video, which he later bragged about in the locker room, throwing down and then kicking a Tulsa player on the Tulsa sideline, then running away. On Instagram, Heath narrates the video, and adds, “Watch how I slam his ass.”
Heath is a junior wide receiver from Jackson, Mississippi. He made three catches in the game for 16 yards.
After the game, coach Mike Leach told ESPN that something started before the game, and it continued throughout the game as the teams combined for 18 penalties.
“That’s just dumb,” he said. “Stuff going back and forth in the course of the game, which any of it on our side I don’t want to see because I feel like I got shorted 15 yards, 30 yards on deals where if we just keep our mouth shut, you know.”
In his press conference, Leach couldn’t explain what started the brawl.
“I don’t know,” he said. “That’s a good question. All of a sudden there was a mosh pit out there.”
