Mississippi State’s offense just received a nice pickup as San Jose State transfer receiver Tre Walker has announced his commitment to Mike Leach’s program.

Walker, a native of California, made the decision to leave San Jose State in early January. If you didn’t keep up with the San Jose State team this season, the team went 7-1 and beat Boise State in the 2020 Mountain West Championship Game.

The new Bulldog receiver played a large role in his former team’s success as Walker registered 45 catches for 627 yards and four touchdowns. His total receiving yards and touchdowns were good for second among all San Jose State receivers this season.

Walker was also named to the First-Team All-Mountain West team this season, which was the second consecutive season in a row he landed those honors. For his college career, Walker has 189 catches for 2,790 yards and 12 receiving touchdowns.

If Walker earns his degree before leaving San Jose State, he would be eligible immediately at Mississippi State in 2021.
