Two Mike Leach assistants from Washington State announce their arrivals at Mississippi State
As reports of the core part of Mike Leach’s Washington State staff moving to Mississippi State, two of those assistants have tweeted confirmations.
Dave Emerick was Leach’s Chief of Staff in Pullman, while Tyson Brown was the head Strength and Conditioning coach. They’re both headed to Starkville.
Emerick is a 2002 Kentucky graduate, and was promoted to Senior Associate Director of Athletics/Chief of Staff for football prior to the 2013 season. At WSU, Emerick looked over all of the Cougar football recruiting efforts, while he also worked with senior administration as it related to the football program. He previously worked at Arizona and Texas Tech.
Brown returned to Wazzu in 2018 after a stint at Elon. He was an assistant with the Cougars from 2014-17. Brown previously worked at South Florida, Washington and the University of Sioux Falls, his alma mater.
