It has been a very difficult season for the Mississippi State Bulldogs, and it got even worse on Saturday. Texas A&M put up 51 points, defeating the Bulldogs 51-10 in College Station. It was an absolutely dominating performance for the Aggies. The team was dominant on the ground, as the Aggies rushed the ball 45 times for 246 yards and 3 touchdowns.

On offense, the Bulldogs couldn’t get anything going, as they finished with 237 total yards of offense. It was especially bad throwing the ball, as the Bulldogs were 10-of-21 for 104 yards and 3 interceptions. It was a brutal day all around, but after the game, coach Zach Arnett provided an update on quarterback Will Rogers.

Arnett told reporters that he believes that Rogers, his starting quarterback would be back from a month-long injury.

Rogers has missed the last 4 games after suffering an injury to his non-throwing shoulder on Oct. 7 at the end of the victory against Western Michigan. On the season, he has thrown for 1,275 passing yards to go along with 10 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.

Mississippi State has went 1-3 in those 4 games without Rogers, and are averaging only 8.3 points per game. At 4-6, the Bulldogs still have a chance to reach a bowl, and Rogers being back would make that much more likely.

Mississippi State hosts Southern Mississippi next Saturday, before hosting Ole Miss on Thanksgiving.
