Mizzou has been without star RB Damarea Crockett for the past couple of weeks as the sophomore deals with a shoulder injury.

The Tigers have gotten great contributions from senior RB Ish Witter and true freshman Larry Rountree III in Crockett’s absence, but the talented sophomore is still one of the better runners in the SEC when he’s healthy.

However, the Tigers will once again be without Crockett, who has run for 481 yards so far this year, when they host Tennessee on Saturday. Coach Barry Odom made the announcement during his Monday press conference:

The Tigers will need to run the ball well if they’re going to take down a Tennessee team that is tough against the pass. That way, QB Drew Lock will have plenty of room to throw the ball, which he’s been doing at a high level this year.

If the Tigers can defend Faurot Field on Saturday night, they’ll improve to 5-5 and be within striking distance of a bowl game. Saturday’s game kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Central time and can be seen on the SEC Network.
