Brady Cook is riding high after leading his Mizzou Tigers to another win on Saturday. The Tigers improved to 5-0 after defeating the Vanderbilt Commodores 38-21 in Nashville.

In the process, Cook broke the SEC record for most consecutive passes without an interception. After the game, Cook spoke with the media about the accomplishment and his team’s success.

“I’m becoming a lot more confident, I know the receivers are, I know the O-line is,” explained Cook. “The offense as a whole, I think, is confident.”

The Tigers collected 532 total yards of offense. Cook completed 33-of-41 passes for 395 yards with 4 TDs and he did not throw an interception.

Cook was then asked what it meant to break the record, and the QB played it cool.

“I think interceptions are a part of the game,” explained the QB. “Obviously I’ll probably throw an interception this year, so i’m not too worried about it. I’m just trying to do the best I can.”

Finally, the QB spoke about stepping up for his defense. The Mizzou defense kept the team in several games last season, but the offense failed to capitalize. Now, the offense is picking up some of the slack.

“I just feel like we’re following through,” explained Cook. “I told the defense all off-season ‘I’m going to have you guys’ backs this year,’ and I feel like we’re doing it.”

The Tigers will next face the LSU Tigers at home in Week 6.
