Missouri snatched defeat from the jaws of victory Saturday at Auburn.

The Tigers missed a short field goal that would have won the game at the end of regulation and then fumbled at the goal line in overtime.

The end result was an inexplicable 17-14 loss.

Now, Missouri has to play No. 1 Georgia on Saturday. Such is life in the SEC.

Tigers coach Eli Drinkwitz was asked about what his team will have to do Saturday to bounce back from such a tough loss.

“Football is like life,” Drinkwitz said during Wednesday’s SEC coaches teleconference. “You deal with situations in life and you have to keep moving forward. .. You can’t dwell on it. Disappointment and losses in this world are not unique to us. … For me, it’s about understanding and learning and then moving forward. … If you dwell on it, it hurts you for any future adversity or opportunity you have.”

Saturday’s game between Missouri and the Bulldogs will be played in Columbia with kick off set for 7:30 p.m. (ET). The game will be televised by the SEC Network.
