After Mississippi State changed its mind on Joe Moorhead, East Los Angeles College defensive lineman Benjamin Key changed his mind on heading to MSU. Key announced Thursday that he is now committed to Missouri.
Key was reported as a Bulldogs signee during December’s Early Signing Period. The 6-5, 280-pounder is rated as the No. 14 strong-side defensive end and No. 84 prospect overall nationally among JUCO transfers in the 2020 class on the 247Sports Composite. In addition to Mizzou and MSU, he also held offers from Arizona, Oregon, Oregon State, San Jose State, Syracuse and Utah.
247Sports lists Key as a Mizzou signee. With the Early Signing Period complete and National Signing Day not coming until February, it indicates Key is enrolled. MU classes began on Jan. 21. The final day to late register or add/change sections is listed as Jan. 28 on the school website.
