Missouri has struggled this season on defense, and on Sunday, the Tigers reportedly made a significant move to its coaching staff to try and fix the problems.

Defensive line coach Jethro Franklin was fired, according to Emily Leiker of the Columbia Missourian.

Franklin had been with Missouri only since January as he came with 29 years of coaching experience total – 16 in college football and 13 in the NFL – his most recent stops include the Oakland Raiders (2015-17) and Seattle Seahawks (2018-19).

Missouri is dead last in rushing defense in the SEC as the Tigers are allowing 308.4 yards per game thus far, and allowed 458 yards on the ground in the 62-24 loss to Tennessee on Saturday, their second straight loss.
