Mizzou coach Cuonzo Martin comments on rumors of Michael Porter Jr.'s potential return

Prior to Mizzou’s home victory over Texas A&M on Tuesday night, star forward Michael Porter Jr. was spotted doing some drills on the court.

Rumors have swirled in recent days about Porter potentially returning before the end of the season, but that is not a certainty at this point.

After Tuesday’s game, coach Cuonzo Martin said nothing is imminent, as he has to wait until doctors and trainers clear the freshman to return:

Cuonzo asked if Porter Jr's status is an ongoing discussion with the team/staff: "Not at all. That’s a case with the doctors and trainers. Until he steps on the floor it’s not an issue."

At this point, it is fair to wonder if it would even benefit MPJ to return, as he’s a near-lock to be a top-five pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

The Tigers would love to have him back, but it will be interesting to see if that actually happens or not.
