Mizzou freshman TE expected to miss entire 2018 season with knee injury
The Missouri Tigers have a deep group of tight ends this season, led by rising star Albert Okwuegbunam and senior Kendall Blanton.
That depth will be put to the test, though, as a promising freshman tight end suffered a major knee injury over the weekend.
According to coach Barry Odom, freshman Messiah Swinson tore his ACL and will miss the entire 2018 season:
The injury bug bit early here at Mizzou’s fall camp. It’s a long list. Per an MU spokesperson TE Messiah Swinson is out for the year after an ACL tear. Barry Odom said just two days ago he was having a real promising camp.

Swinson was a 3-star tight end out of New York in the 2018 class, picking Mizzou over Nebraska, Arizona State and others.
Hopefully he’ll be able to return at full strength in 2019, and the silver lining in this situation is that he’ll be able to take a redshirt this fall and still have four years of eligibility remaining.
