Mizzou loses commitment from 2022 guard out of East St. Louis

Mizzou is entering the Dennis Gates era after moving on from Cuonzo Martin as head coach following the 2021-22 season.
Gates has been very active in the transfer portal, but on Monday, he took a loss to his 2022 recruiting class.
As you can see below, 3-star 2022 combo guard Christian Jones — a native of East St. Louis — took to Twitter on Monday evening to reveal he was decommitting from the Tigers:

Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Jones is the No. 37 combo guard in the 2022 class and the No. 8 overall recruit from the state of Illinois.
The Tigers now have 2 players in their 2022 recruiting class — 4-star forward Aidan Shaw and unranked point guard Sean East.
