Jafar Armstong, a 3-star 2017 wide receiver from Kansas, was one of the prize recruits of Mizzou’s class.

However, after taking an official visit to Notre Dame this weekend, Armstrong announced on Twitter Sunday morning that he was de-committing from Mizzou to explore other options:

Notre Dame is now the favorite to land the talented Kansas native, with Minnesota (a school Armstrong visited last weekend) also in the mix.

Armstrong had been committed to the Tigers since June. Coach Barry Odom’s crew still has one receiver, 3-star Texas native Elijah Gardiner, in the 2017 class.

According to 247Sports, Armstrong is the No. 68 wide receiver in the class of 2017 and the No. 3 overall prospect from the state of Kansas.
