Mizzou QB Drew Lock is having a heck of a junior season, and currently leads the nation with 31 touchdown passes.

Coming into the year, it would have been crazy to think of Lock leaving for the NFL a year early, but now that question isn’t so ridiculous.

Especially with the way USC QB Sam Darnold, UCLA QB Josh Rosen and Wyoming QB Josh Allen have failed to live up to expectations this year, Lock could be a hot name on teams’ draft boards.

But, would Lock actually leave early? He was asked about it on Tuesday, and didn’t exactly say coming back for his senior year was a certainty:

“You know, it’s not a front runner in my mind right now,” he said. “I’m focused on these upcoming games, but if the opportunity presents itself, then that’s just a decision that was eventually going to have to be made.”

The Tigers have recovered from a 1-5 start to improve to 4-5 heading into this weekend’s game against Tennessee. With things looking better at Mizzou with each passing week, it would be a huge hit if Lock heads off to the NFL before the 2018 season.

However, it’s his choice to make, and right now it sounds like he’s undecided, especially with several important 2017 games looming at the forefront of his mind.
