Mizzou QB Drew Lock had a great season in 2016 despite the Tigers’ 4-8 overall record, finishing second in the SEC in passing yards despite playing in one less game than leader Austin Allen.

However, his numbers in a lopsided 42-7 loss to LSU in October left a lot to be desired, as he completed only 17 of his 37 passing yards for 167 yards, no touchdowns and an interception.

A big reason for Lock’s struggles against LSU was S Jamal Adams, who the Mizzou quarterback said at SEC Media Days on Wednesday was the best player he’s ever played against:

Adams was selected by the New York Jets with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, and even that was a bit of a slide for the projected top-5 pick.

Adams only had one interception in 2016, but that’s because he was so good in coverage that most quarterbacks didn’t even try to throw his way.

Fortunately for Lock and Mizzou, Adams is off to the NFL and the two squads aren’t scheduled to play during the 2017 season.
