A member of Missouri’s 2021 recruiting class is reportedly no longer a member of the team. Power Mizzou reports that redshirt freshman defensive end Jonathan Jones has departed the program, bringing Eli Drinkwitz’s squad to 84 scholarship players.

Out of McKinney (Texas), Jones was rated a 3-star edge defender in the class of 2021 on the 247Sports Composite. In addition to Mizzou, Jones picked up 26 other scholarship offers, including Kansas and Texas, during his recruitment.
Jones did not see the field during MU’s 2021 season. May 1 was the deadline to enter the transfer portal as an undergraduate and play in the NCAA’s 2022 college football season without a waiver.
