It was a chaotic but victorious afternoon in Columbia is Missouri took down Kansas State on a last-second, 61-yard field goal.

The win, which was a signature win for Eli Drinkwitz and his staff, marked the end of a 3-decade long streak for Missouri.

Before Saturday’s win over No. 15 Kansas, Missouri had not beat a ranked, non-conference team as an unranked opponent since Sept. 29, 1990, when the Tigers took down No. 21 Arizona State.

With Harrison Mevis’ record-setting, game-winning field goal, that streak comes to an end.

Just a week ago, Missouri went down to the wire with MTSU, leaving fans and media questioning the legitimacy of the Tigers this season. Now with the win under their belt, the Tigers seem ready to compete against some really good SEC teams later this year.

Missouri is well on its way to a potential 5-0 start. Next week, the Tigers will take on Memphis before facing Vanderbilt. With both of those being very winnable games, the Tigers could be undefeated as they take on LSU.
