Quarterback recruiting in the SEC took an interesting twist this week when a prospect already committed to Missouri reacted to an offer from LSU.

James Foster, a Montgomery, Ala., committed to Missouri in April, according to 247 Sports, and is a 3-star, dual-threat quarterback, and was the Tigers’ first commit in this class. He has at least 16 offers. He’s the 14th-ranked dual-threat QB in the class of 2018.

Foster has scheduled visits to other schools, including Florida State, and one of his high school teammates, linebacker La’Dedric Jackson, already de-committed from Missouri.

LSU doesn’t have a commitment for the 2018 recruiting class, and its top target, 4-star Justin Rogers, is committed to TCU.

The Tigers are also recruiting several other quarterbacks, including 4-star Arkansas quarterback Gerry Bohanon of Earle, Ark., 4-star Cameron Rising of Newbury Park, Calif, and Jarren Williams of Lawrenceville, Ga. Rising and Williams are committed to Texas and Kentucky, respectively.
