Missouri has landed a big addition to its 2024 men’s basketball recruiting class, in more ways than one.

Trent Burns, a 4-star center out of the Houston area, committed to Dennis Gates and the Tigers on Sunday during a live stream on YouTube. He is ranked the No. 13 center in the country by 247Sports’ composite and is considered the No. 79 player in the country regardless of position.

Burns is the 5th committment in the 2024 class for Mizzou and the 2nd center, joining Atlanta-area standout Peyton Marshall. The class is currently ranked No. 1 in the country.

Along with Mizzou, Burns had offers from 16 other programs. His finalists were Rice, Tulsa, and Xavier, along with the Tigers. He was in Columbia on Sept. 1 to take a visit, and now has announced his intentions to play for Gates and Mizzou at the close of his high school career.
