The field for the 2023 Women’s College World Series is almost set. The final 2 spots in Oklahoma City will be decided Sunday in Super Regional finals.

Oklahoma, Stanford, Tennessee, Florida State, Oklahoma State and Washington have won their Super Regionals. Sunday’s Game 3 action features Alabama-Northwestern and Utah-San Diego State.

No. 5 seed Alabama lost Game 1 to No. 12 seed Northwestern 3-1. The Crimson Tide bounced back with a 2-1 victory Saturday to force Game 3.

It was a 1-1 game in the top of the 7th inning before Ashley Prange hit an RBI single to score Larissa Preuitt.

Montana Fouts picked up the win with 2.2 perfect innings in relief.

UA coach Patrick Murphy said an electric home atmosphere helped lift the Tide to victory.

“That crowd was awesome,” Murphy said, via the team website. “It is an unbelievable feeling to coach in an atmosphere like this. I credit the fans for coming out. It was a late Saturday night and magic happened at the Rhoads House.

“It was a great game between two really good teams. It was a dogfight the whole way and I’m really proud of our bunch. Jaala [Torrence] gave us a good start and Montana is just unreal. Prange got the big hit in the seventh and I thought our defense played really well tonight.”

Another host team, No. 15 seed Utah, stayed alive with a home victory. The Utes hammered San Diego State 10-1 to force Game 3 in Salt Lake City.

Here’s the schedule for Sunday:

  • San Diego State at No. 15 Utah – 2 p.m. ET, ESPN
  • No. 12 Northwestern at No. 5 Alabama – 4 p.m. ET, ESPN
