McGregor, Holloway Rematch after 13 years
It’s been a long time since Conor McGregor and Max Holloway have met in the Octagon.
The first time came on Aug. 17, 2013 as part of UFC Fight Night in Boston. That was a featherweight (145lbs) contest that McGregor won by unanimous decision.
Saturday’s bout will be a welterweight contest (170lbs), a first for Holloway. It will take place from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, with the main card airing live on Paramount Plus at 9 p.m. ET.
McGregor (22-6) hasn’t competed since July 10, 2021 when an injury force him out of a bout with Dustin Poirier. McGregor hasn’t actually won a UFC bout since January 2020.
Holloway (27-9) is coming off a decision loss to Charles Oliveira on March 7. He has competed twice in the last year, including a decision win over Poirier back at UFC 318 on July 19, 2025.
Most online sportsbooks are listing Holloway as somewhat of a favorite. The UFC has Holloway listed at -210 to win, while McGregor sits at +175 as of Friday morning.
