  • The Missouri Gaming Commission has received seven online sports betting license applications
  • The deadline for applications was Friday, Sept. 12, but applications may still be accepted if postmarked on the date
  • Missouri sports betting will launch on Monday, Dec. 1, 2025

Seven operators have submitted Missouri online sports betting license applications as the Show-Me State marches towards its launch.

The Missouri Gaming Commission reported receiving 1,113 sports betting-related license applications, all of which it will have to process prior to the state’s Dec. 1, 2025 sports betting launch.

DraftKings and Circa Sports are still the only two operators to receive Missouri sports betting licenses, while the rest of the operators will have to wait until next week to see if they are awarded tethered online licenses.

Missouri Sports Betting Market Shaping Up

The deadline for sports betting license applications was Friday, Sept. 12. However, a Missouri Gaming Commission spokesperson said the window for applications will be left open and operators who submit an application with a September 12 postdate will still be accepted.

Seven sports betting operators have submitted tethered online sports betting applications. These operators are:

  • BetMGM
  • bet365
  • FanDuel
  • Fanatics Sportsbook
  • Caesars Sportsbook
  • ESPN BET
  • Underdog

The operators will meet with the gaming commission during next week’s scheduled meeting to make their cases for a license in the Show-Me State. The Missouri Gaming Commission will meet twice — Tuesday, Sept. 23, and Thursday, Sept. 24 — and will announce the licenses after the meetings.

Each operator has partnered with either a state casino or professional sports franchise to enter the sports betting market. BetMGM announced a partnership with Century Casinos in May while bet365 announced a sports betting market access agreement with the St. Louis Cardinals this past March.

ESPN BET will enter the market through PENN Entertainment’s owned and operated Hollywood Casino and River City Casino locations in Missouri. Caesars Sportsbook used its Caesars Entertainment owned Harrah’s Kansas City and Horseshoe St. Louis casinos for its market access as well.

FanDuel applied for a license through its partnership with MLS team St. Louis CITY SC. Fanatics Sportsbook, which partnered with Boyd Gaming for market access, also applied for an online sports betting license and two retail sportsbook licenses at Boyd’s Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City and Ameristar Casino Resort and Spa St. Charles locations.

Underdog has not revealed its market access partner.
