West Virginia online casinos had another good showing in the month of September, tallying $39.5 million in revenue last month.

The tally for the West Virginia online casinos was up 15.5% compared to last Septemberโ€™s total of $34.2 million, which was a new monthly record at the time.

Septemberโ€™s revenue total was slightly down from August. It dipped 3.4% from the $40.9 million it tallied in August.

How Septemberโ€™s WV Online Casino Revenue is Tabulated

The West Virginia Lottery releases weekly revenue reports on iGaming through their website, so there are not clear-cut monthly totals, but you can get a good approximation of how things are.

Reports are slotted by the ending of each week, Hereโ€™s how each looked in September.

  • Week Ending September 5: $9,804,932 (Average of $7,003,523 over 5 days)
  • Week Ending September 12: $9,080,542
  • Week Ending September 19: $7,488,590
  • Week Ending September 26: $9,809,928
  • Week Ending October 3: $10,628,374 (Average of $6,073,457 over 4 days)
  • Total: $39,456,040

The week ending September 5 and October 3 was done by average, so that is why we say the monthly total was approximately $39.5 million

With the 15% tax rate on the revenue, $5.9 million was generated for the state through the September iGaming numbers.

October Opens with $10 million Revenue Week

In a sign of what is ahead for West Virginia iGaming, the week ending on October 3 recorded $10.6 million, the second-highest total ever for the state.

Back in March, with the week ending March 7, West Virginia tallied $10.7 million in revenue. That was the first and only time the state had surpassed $10 million in a given week.

It was interesting to see West Virginia not be able to get back to that moment for months, but now October has started with that milestone.

It could be the start of bigger things ahead for the rest of 2026 when it comes to weekly revenue totals.

Revenue Surpasses $350 Million in 2026

West Virginia has now amassed over $350 million in iGaming revenue for 2026. With September’s numbers, the state is now at $353.7 million.

Here’s a look at how the year has mapped out.

  • January: $41.7 million
  • February: $37.1 million
  • March: $42.0 million (current record)
  • April: $38.3 million
  • May: $39.5 million
  • June: $38.3 million
  • July: $36.4 million
  • August: $40.9 million
  • September: $39.5 million

While West Virginia is not on pace to reach $500 million for the year, it is reasonable to expect $470 million+ with three months to go.

In 2025, West Virginia finished the year with $369.3 million. This means that in October, West Virginia will already surpass last year’s entire online casino revenue total.
