Cade Kurland and Karson Bowen each smacked two homers in the rout, which was highlighted by a pair of seven-run innings. Brendan Lawson, Blake Cyr and Ethan Surowiec also went deep for the Gators, who scored seven runs in both the sixth and eighth innings.
Florida rattled off the 22 runs on 15 hits, with Lawson and Bowen each going 3-for-5. Bowen drove in five runs and Kurland drove in four. Every Florida position player recorded a hit and scored a run.
Miami actually out-hit Florida 16-15 but got snowed under by the long-ball barrage. Max Galvin went 3-for-5 and Jake Ogden belted a solo homer to lead the Hurricanes.
Florida reliever Jackson Barberi (5-2) earned the victory while Miamiโs Jack Durso (0-2) took the loss. The Hurricanes trotted out nine pitchers in the rout.
