Florida baseball will not play its series finale against No. 17 Miami due to inclement weather in the area of Mark Light Field in Miami. With that, the Gators finish their Sunshine State series with a 2-game sweep over a good Hurricanes team.

Miami was previously undefeated before facing the Gators this weekend. Florida took Game 1 by a score of 7-2 before turning around and winning Game 2 on Saturday night, 8-4, in controversial fashion.

Sunday night’s game was originally scheduled to start at 6 p.m. By nature of the word ‘cancellation,’ this game will not be made up.

Florida baseball is 11-1 on the season and has now won its last 6 series in a row dating back to last season. Florida’s situation against the Hurricanes is even better — the Gators have won 5 straight series against Miami dating back to 2022 and 11 of their last 12 overall.

Not too shabby.

The Gators’ lone loss this season came in the season-opener against UAB, 7-9, in extra innings. Florida baseball will be back in action on Tuesday against FAU, which is 6-5 on the season thus far.

Florida currently holds a 3% chance to win the national title in 2026. Here’s a look at the top odds, per Kalshi.
