Florida has added a talented pitcher to its roster for 2026.
After a standout season at Hawaii, Cooper Walls is taking his talents to Gainesville. He announced his commitment to Florida on social media.
A native of Carslbad, California who played at La Costa Canyon High School, Walls was a top-100 right-handed pitcher on Perfect Game in the Class of 2024. He was rated the No. 54 prospect in the state of California.
Walls is listed as measuring 6-5 and 215 pounds on the Hawaii roster. In his freshman season, he made 15 appearances, including 13 starts.
The Big West Freshman Pitcher of the Year, Walls posted a 3.73 ERA over 60.1 innings. He walked just 15 batters for a WHIP of 1.40 and a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 45-15.
Walls is the second-ever Rainbow Warrior to win the Big West Freshman Pitcher of the Year honor, joining Dylan Thomas. Walls had particularly impressive shutout outings against UC Santa Barbara (7 IP, 4 H, 3 K, 2 BB) and Oregon State (5 IP, 2 H, 5 K, 2 BB).
