Jim Schlossnagle pulls 2 Texas players for embarrassing baserunning blunder in loss to Arkansas

Jim Schlossnagle and the top-ranked Texas Longhorns are in the unfamiliar position of facing a sweep.
Texas began its latest series with Arkansas on Thursday. The Longhorns entered Week 12 atop the SEC standings at 16-2 in conference play. On Thursday, Texas picked up loss No. 3, falling 9-0. The Longhorns dropped their first SEC series of the year with a 6-1 loss to the Razorbacks on Friday night.
One example of just how bad things are going for Texas against the Hogs came Friday night on the basepaths. It was a 6-1 game in the top of the 7th when the Longhorns were looking to rally. They had 2 on with 1 out when Tommy Farmer IV popped up in foul ground.
Farmer’s pop out should have resulted in 2 on with 2 out. But Will Gasparino and Casey Borba ran without tagging, as if Farmer was the 3rd out. Their baserunning blunder resulted in one of the easiest double plays Arkansas will ever turn. Schlossnage pulled both Gasparino and Borba for giving away an out and killing the rally.
Texas base runners forget how many outs there are leading to an Arkansas double play on the pop out.
